Find the axis assignment line for the function you want to change (ex. The first one will have an id number of 1 and the rest will be numbered accordingly (2, 3, 4 etc) Goto the bottom and see how your controllers are listed. Then go to the inputbinding.xml file in your win/user/games/fs17 folder and edit it with an app like notepad++. First take a note of keyboard assignment for the function. Lets say that you want to assign the arm movement of a telehandler to one of your joysticks. Here is the way I could solve the problem. Im so pi** of i cant even look at the game icon. Test of on different joysticks and wheels and have a full support for the mostly used products on the market.īye FS. It should be in the core to make the controls a very high priority. I cant stand ♥♥♥♥♥♥ software that dont have any IQ and competence behind it. Im just gonna lay this **** to the side until its fixed. I was gonna play FS17 all day was the plan, but after this ****. The game would be sooooo much better if u just let the end user have a easy installation process and mapping of controls made simple. I cant even describe in words how useless ur joystick handling is. And then he started to mux up the joysticks and the axis and double the inputs. I have tried to set them up one and one, the first seem to work fine, then i installed the second joystick and started to map up the forest axis. Im a flight sim guy, so im used to having no issues with this of any kind. You only have so much energy for whats so easy in other games. I have tried to uninstall the game, the joysticks etc etc. He cant even locate the correct axis for Y/X, he cant even separate them. Im so fed up right now, the game is not complete. Today alone i have spent 6hours trying to map up 2 simple TM16000 joysticks. Im talking about axis on every joystick should be controllable with out havning to install one at the time or even having to edit XML files to get it work. Go out there and buy all the wheels and joysticks on the market thats common to use in such a game and take a few days and just try them out in ur GUI and make sure its possible to map that **** how the user like it. This FS GUI and mapping is still a disaster for the end user, and it dont even work out of the box. Take a look at their mapping of joystick and how they handle it im sure u will understand. If you just start up ANY other game out there thats a simulator. Or else in my opinion you cant call it a simulator. Make sure the user have all the possibilites to map all their equipment like they want to. When making a game and you decide to call it "Simulator". No for that part where guys over at FS17 office should pay attention to. If it HADNT been for the got damn joystick issues. In general it seems very nice the game. Getting away from those manual editing in xml files etc. I like to fine tune my software, very nice touch. I just noticed that i had to turn left in the menu to get it to actually turn right in the game and same with the gas/brake. My wheel didnt have to go thru anything to get to work. Lets start with the good things i noticed about FS17. And i have bought this new equipment - hoping that FS17 developers had listend to anything or read thru the forums or even tried it them selfs when they started making this new game for 2017. The only reason i stod up with it was bc i loved the feeling of controlling that front loader or forest machine with 2 joysticks and wheels n pedals. The GUI was just like a 3 year old had done it. I mean thats just pure incompetent programmers from the start that cant get that right. In FS15 everybody knows it was a nightmare to even try to bind anything to joysticks and wheels, u had to get 3rd party programs and fool the software beliving its a x360 controller. TrackIR 5 (offcourse u wanna be able to move ur head in a cockpit of any kind esp if u wanna call ur game a simulator like FS17) Thrustmaster TM16000 joysticks (very nice joysticks with right/left hand) G29 Logitech wheel (more immersion and nice feel in FS IF it works) PLayseat Air Force (place for 2 joysticks on the side for more immersion) My rig up as followed (Note, this is hardware i have bought for one purpose alone. I cant belive its allowed to release something like this when its not tested and in its final stage. I dont know where to start, im just so pi** of now with this FS software.
